Just Food Conference: April 5 & 6

When I left San Francisco I also left one of my favorite volunteer organizations: 18 Reasons, who works to empower the local community with the creativity and confidence needed to buy, cook, and eat good food every day. I worked countless events while I was part of the 18 Reasons crew, and it's one of the places I miss most. Since coming to New York I have been seeking out like-minded organizations. I may have found a new one in Just Food.

This April Just Food is sponsoring a weekend of conference events, lectures, conversations and more. Just Food's mission is to connect communities and local farms with the resources and support they need to make fresh, locally grown food accessible to all New Yorkers. Their goals seems to match 18 Reasons to a T, and I am looking forward to the conference and making new connections. Check out the schedule here.
